PSE can't process those files, but Affinity Photo (and I assume full Ps) can. There is also the 32-bit tiff or OpenEXR (HDR) option, which leaves you even more room for tonemapping (raw file like), but the files are huge (twice the uncompressed 16-bit tiff size), and if your friend wanted this option he'd specifically ask for it.

So, it's best if you send one trial reference file exported from dt to your friend to make sure he has no problems with compression, embedded profiles or lost metadata. However, when I open the same files in Affinity Photo the embedded Rec2020 is not recognized in any of the files and ProPhoto RGB (my default working profile) is substituted, which results in dark files - clearly this looks like a bug in Affinity Photo. The most economical option is to use the "deflate with predictor" tiff compression method. Some programs don't like compressed tiffs, but my Photoshop Elements has no problems with any of the compression options in darktable. Thanks in advance! So my idea is, I will do the basic development of my RAFs properly (demosaic + denoise, millions thanks to sluggy_warrior for his brilliant presets!) in my darktable (2.4.4 as of now) and then export the results into some lossless format, importable by Adobe. I gave him RAFs - but his tools are not able to properly develop Fuji RAF and he does not want to complicate his established workflow (which is obviously Bayer sensor-centric, 99.9% of the time he works with RAWs from Bayer sensors of all brands). In short, I need to release some of my photos to this "other guy" who will PP these. This is for passing them to the other guy who will do the PP with his own toolset (supposedly Adobe PS).
